Coburg North
Consisting of seven buildings across a large masterplan site, each building critiques the historical and local context and caters for continuity of care with a varying level of care including Independent, Serviced Apartments and Residential Aged Care.
"Transformative for the Coburg area with numerous public green areas with seven independent buildings."
Community engagement and placemaking form the core philosophy, shaping spaces that prioritise connection, belonging and everyday livability. Placemaking is driven by a central spine that threads through the site, extending into pedestrian pathways and vehicle routes creating clear movement and connection.
"Connecting with community through permeable edges and contextual design."
The building mass has been carefully considered, with facade articulation responding to the sense of arrival. Activated outdoor communal gardens are strategically allocated to foster interaction and wellbeing. Public realm nodes further strengthen site connectivity while integrating vegetation opportunities embed the community within its natural context.
The overarching concept seeks to provide warmth and familiarity alongside a sense of belonging within the wider community.
Sustainability integration sits at the core of the project as a necessity to be socially responsible, ensuring that we are contributing to a project that intuitively contributes to a resilient future.
In collaboration with industry leaders in sustainability Hip V Hype, the team interrogated and implemented innovative technology with a commitment to provide an environmentally conscious development. Our approach reflects a commitment to doing better, ensuring that the site not only meets current needs but also contributes to a more sustainable future.
